Yes! One of the best things about destination weddings at all-inclusive resorts are the perks! Depending on the resort, the perks are based on how many room nights are booked. Those perks range from free room upgrades, free room nights (you receive the monetary value back), free wedding events like a cocktail hour, 3-hour reception, and even a $1,000 credit for the bride and groom! Perks and concessions are based on a certain number of room nights booked. Additionally, some resorts offer special honeymoon packages for the wedding couple, making your celebration even more memorable.

For flexible groups, guests can book on their own but they will miss out on the cost savings and perks the other guests receive. If doing a room block, they could run into additional fees to attend the wedding events, but they will also not be getting support from your travel advisor, and you the couple, will lose out on those room nights that go towards the perks and concessions you may receive. If a guest books at an entirely different hotel they will also need to pay an additional fee for a day pass to the resort. Likely when you add everything up with transportation, financially it wouldn’t make sense. We include this information in the booking link your guests will receive.

This includes things like blood tests, translated documents, legal officiants, a certain length of stay in destination, etc., which will include higher fees. Then you will have to wait for the legal documents to be sent to you at home and then work with local requirements to have your wedding legally recognized. You will find exact requirements at the destination’s U.S. embassy website and at your local courthouse. Symbolic ceremonies are a much easier process without legal documents required. Most couples like to have an intimate courthouse wedding with their closest family members or alone as a couple prior to leaving or in celebration after their Destination Wedding. Religious ceremonies have special needs of their own. Certain resorts in certain destinations ensure that specific venue and officiant requirements are met to be able to perform these ceremonies. Your advisor will guide you to the right resorts for you and ensure all requirements are met.
